it a success. Therefore Michael Grussemeyer with the help of
local volunteers are running 5 more RUSA approved 200k Brevets
in the Central/South Florida region during the second half of
the year.
Different locations have been selected, so that hopefully
everybody will have one close to their home area. This might

This is a ride around the second largest lake in the USA.
We begin in Belle Glade on the Southeastern shore. And head
slightly Northwest to the levee and turn left on the paved
15 mile plus portion to Clewiston. Riding the levee is
extraordinary in that you are elevated some twenty feet
above everything else. Offering Panoramic views of the lake
and wildlife on one side and of farmland with sugar cane
fields on the other. This portion of the trail ends at the
Corps of Engineers facility in Clewiston where we pick up US
Hwy 27 through the City and then turn North on CR-720
through the cane fields and past fishing camps heading to
Moorehaven where we encounter a long high bridge going over
a portion of the city. We then head North on CR-78 we ride
past more open range and pass The Okee-Tantie Campground and
Marina, located on the Kissimee River just before it goes
into the lake. From there we venture Northeast on CR-721
through the Brighton Indian Reservation on some really
smooth roads. At Brighton we head West on Hwy 70 to the City
of Okeechobee and connect with CR-441 and 98 to follow the
Northern Rim of the lake Past Port Mayaca, Canal Point, and
Pahokee. Out of Pahokee we head South on CR-715 past an
airfield which usually has skydivers jumping on most
Saturdays and Sundays. We pass several parks along the way
back to Belle Glade and return through the heart of the City
to the finish.
